The complexity of mechatronic products and the increasing competitive pressure on the globalized market place high demands on the efficiency of German companies' product development processes. In this context, the use of simulation tools has proven to be a key factor for cost and time savings in development departments in recent years. If one also considers the aspect of system developments that nowadays take place in development and supplier networks, co-simulation is a particularly important tool here. The aim of the GUSMA joint project carried out at the Chair of Mobile Machinery (Mobima) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is therefore to make co-simulation usable for cross-company simulation.
