Welcome to the Institute Mobile Machines
The Mobile Machinery Division (Mobima) of the KIT is unique in its form in Germany and is now internationally recognized as a specialist center for questions in the field of mobile machinery. Its declared aim is research into future concepts. The aim is to get students and young scientists interested in mobile machines and to provide industry with competent scientific support from the idea to implementation.
We currently have two vacancies within the EU Project ENGAGE in the areas of Sufficient Safety Performance Level (AgPL) for Geofence-solution for Autonomous Agricultural Vehicles and Off-highway Road Quality Maintenance for Autonomous Earth-moving Machines.
We congratulate our project partner Müller Landmaschinen GmbH and Aebi Schmidt Switzerland on winning the gold medal in the DLG Innovation Award AGRITECHNICA 2025!

In the winter semester 25/26, a new practical course entitled “Robot Control: A Case Study on Self-Balancing Systems” will be offered. Further information can be found on the course website. Registration is now open via ILIAS.

In the winter semester there will be a change in the lectures offered by Mobima. The lecture Drive Train of Mobile Machines will be replaced by the lecture Vehicle Drive Technology. The lecture Fluid Technology will no longer take place, instead there is the new lecture Mathematical Methods of Fluid Power as a replacement.
For the English-language MEI course, the Fluid Power lecture will be held for the first time.
